Sandra P. Drew Sandy Drew has served as a development consultant with Marts and Lundy since 1999. Prior to her consulting work, Sandy served as director of development at Lick-Wilmerding High School in San Francisco. In 1998, she co-founded the California Schools Development Conference specifically to address the need for professional development opportunities for the entire development office team. From 1989 to 1994, Sandy served as the director of development at KQED, San Francisco’s public broadcasting television and radio station. Before moving to the Bay Area in 1989, Sandy lived for twenty years in Denver, Colorado where she served as director of development for several educational and civic organizations. Sandy served on the Marts & Lundy Board of Directors from 2006 through 2007. In addition to her professional activities, Sandy serves as class agent for Mt. Holyoke College and as an advisor to several community-based non-profits.

Dr. Gary Gruber For the past 47 years, Gary has served in every capacity in independent schools – teacher, coach, department head, head of school, parent, trustee, and grandparent. He has taught in college and university settings and co-authored a book on adolescence.  Gary was the Head of School at The Shipley School in Pennsylvania, the founding head of the Bosque School in Albuquerque, founding Board Chair of Monte del Sol School in Santa Fe and for the past eleven years has been an executive search consultant and management consultant to schools in the United States and abroad.  Gary recently returned from two years as interim Principal at the American School in London and is living currently in Abiquiu, New Mexico.  Gary holds a  B.A. from Miami University, a M.Div. from Princeton and a M.S. and Ph.D. from Penn State University.

Carla is a lifelong independent school educator, administrator, and student. She has served as the Middle School Division Director and Director of Development at The Children’s School in La Jolla CA, the Director of Summerbridge San Francisco at San Francisco University High School, and teacher and coach at Lick-Wilmerding High School in San Francisco and Holland Hall School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She has served on several nonprofit boards including Breakthrough Silicon Valley,  where she is currently serving as the Development Chair,  Girls on the Run of San Diego, The Impala Racing Team, and Summerbridge San Diego.  She holds a B.A. in English from Emory University and a M.A. in Nonprofit Management and Leadership from the University of San Diego. She has worked with a number of nonprofit organizations and schools in areas of strategic planning, governance, development, and marketing and branding. Carla is an avid runner and foodie.  She currently resides in Los Gatos, CA with her school-head husband and three children.
