Exercising leadership in schools is not easy. Leaders in school today face a number of challenges including tough economic conditions, unrealistically high expectations from parents, a rapidly changing youth culture influenced by the media and technology, and the nearly impossible task of communicating with a multitude of constituents with different, and often conflicting, needs. In addition, leadership usually involves igniting and creating change within a school community. The courageous individuals who decide to lead will experience failure, resistance and set-backs, and will face adaptive challenges with no easy answers, yet schools need leaders empowered with vision, courage and a high level of skill. Make the decision to lead with a renewed commitment that is focused, clear and strong. This seminar is that opportunity and it’s here.
At this seminar, participants will:
- Meet and develop lasting connections with other dynamic individuals who are leading or aspiring to lead in their schools.
- Engage in stimulating discussions and workshops around topics such as the dangers of leadership, moral leadership, group dynamics, personal mission and vision of leadership.
- Review and analyze real cases of leadership challenges.
- Develop practical knowledge in areas such as finance, development, and governance.
- Reflect, recommit and renew.
